Nana’s Kitchen began as a small restaurant producing delicious family style ethnic meals in Burnaby,
British Columbia, Canada.
Founders, NASIM AND SHELINA, created a restaurant that was well known for wonderful aromas, lots of
laughter, and for providing job opportunities to new Canadian women.
By 2000, take-away orders for their popular pastry items were surpassing the restaurant’s capacity, and
Nana’s Kitchen production facility was born. With that step came sales to Grocery Retail and Food
Service throughout North America.
Fueled by a strong vision to produce to the highest standards, Nanas Kitchen made
a passionate commitment to HACCP certification and opened their state of
the art, CFIA inspected facility which received British Retailer Consortium’s
(BRC) Global Standard for Food Safety.
You’ll be pleased to know that several of the original restaurant staff have grown
to become managers in our production facility and administration offices. The legacy
of providing a place for women to work still remains very important to the Founders.
